Overview - Acton Systems 15-year Product Warranty

By using Acton Systems products, you will be guaranteed the system will perform to current Category 5e cabling standards for 15 years.

Please see below for more detailed information on the program.

What does the warranty cover?

The program is a 15-year, Category 5e, replacement warranty provided by Acton Systems to the End User for a cabling system consisting of Acton connecting hardware and approved cable products.

If the system fails during the warranty period, Acton Systems will replace or repair any defective component of the system or alternately provide credit for any component found to be non-compliant and cover the reasonable cost of labour.

Who are our Authorised Cable Partners?
Any recognised cabling vendor that meets ACA and current Category 5e cabling standards. Please refer to the Cable Partners site for a detailed list.

Why buy a Warranted System?

With the increasing demand for network bandwidth, it is important to feel confident that the cabling system you install performs as it is claimed to.

Our warranty assurance means you can be confident of performance, quality and reliability under network time and speed demands.

Who can offer the Warranty?

If the installation has been undertaken by an ACA registered cabler and installed in accordance with AS/NZS 3080 standards, you can apply for the warranty. The system must consist of Acton Systems products and Authorised Cable Partner products only.

Please refer to the Endorsed Installer site for more information on how to become registered to install Acton Systems based warranted installations.

What are the Contractor's Obligations?

The Acton Systems warranty is conditional on the installation contractor fulfilling the obligations listed below:

(a) All installation work must be undertaken by an ACA registered cabler, in accordance with the installation and system design requirements of the edition of the Australian/New Zealand cabling Standard AS/NZS 3080 current at the time.

(b) The system must consist of permanent links solely constructed with Acton products or Acton approved products that are within 12 months of manufacture and have never been used before.

(c) The location and designation of all installed links must be recorded on "as-built" floor plan drawings and a copy of these Installation Records must be supplied to the End User.

(d) Every installed link must be tested with a Level IIe (or above) field tester with Category 5e basic link limits or Class D:2000 permanent link limits. For each link a Test Record, with the same link designations as shown on the Installation Records, must be supplied to the End User. Please see the Recognised Testers site for a listing of accepted cable testers.

(e) Within 15 business days of notification of a problem with the system, the installation contractor must identify the problem and notify Acton Systems if there is a potential claim pursuant to the warranty.

What are the Warranty Terms and Conditions?
Please refer to the Warranty Terms and Conditions site for a full reproduction of the terms and conditions relevant to the Acton Systems Warranty program.

How do I apply for the Warranty?

Application is simple. The installation contractor must first complete an application to become an Acton Systems Endorsed Installer (refer to the Endorsed Installer site).

Test results then need to be completed for each link along with a floor plan and then submitted to the End User. A copy of this needs to be submitted to us along with the Acton Systems Warranty Application Form (these forms can be downloaded from the Application Forms site).

Once approved, a Warranty Certificate is sent to the End User.

When is the Warranty Certificate issued?
On receipt of a correctly completed Application Form, Acton Systems will issue a Warranty Certificate for the project and send it to the End User.

What is the Warranty Claim Procedure?
Please refer to the Warranty Terms and Conditions site for the Acton Systems Warranty Claim Procedure.
